This update of 01 April 2011 is focused mainly on corrections and clean-up of the previous post dated 22 December 2009, rather than additions of new data. The data on direct ancestors and their close relatives going back around 10 generations or so for some lines is well documented and based primarily on family records cross referenced with records available electronically. However, the total database has information, accessed primarily from electronic sources, on 21,746 individuals, 67,809 events, and 30,746 relationships, documented with 89,291 citations. Obviously, I haven't reviewed and corrected it all and there are errors. I have credited the author where the information is available and have made notes where I think the data is suspect. Please feel free to download and use this research, but please make sure that you include references and proper credit of the numerous authors.

Our New World ancestors and relatives include both early European immigrants (earliest born @1550) and Native American ancestors (earliest born @ 1415). New World surnames include: Alden; Anderson; Blair; Bowling; Brink; Bullock; Carroll; Chandler; Coffin; Cosby; Cuthbertson; Day; Dickenson; Eades; Eaton; Fairbanks; Fletcher; Garland; Gillaspie; Greenleaf; Harris; Johnston; Jones; Kirtley; Lewis; Maupin; McAlester; McCotter; Merrill; Miller; Moore; Patterson; Powhattan; Randolph; Robinson; Simmons; Spencer; Stith; Rugg; Taylor; Tyler; Walker; Westlake; and Witherspoon. Our early immigrant families were located primarily in Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New York and include a number of Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay, and Jamestown Colony settlers as well as members of the Powhattan and Wampanoag tribes.

I have posted the online display of this file at Roots Web: Brink-Day-Johnston-Fletcher Family Tree.

Download the GEDCOM file (BNL.ZIP) here or from the GEDCOM radio buttons at the top and bottom of the page.

Note to Genealogists regarding our New World data:  Our New World genealogies are generally well documented, including references from family documents, DAR records, published histories, etc.  Most of the sources have been referenced in the GEDCOM file.  Should you have questions, answers, corrections, etc., please feel free to e-mail Benjamin McAlester Brink (Ben) at ben@benbrink.com or Janet Louise Day Brink at janet@brinkfamily.net

Note to Genealogists regarding our Old World Data:  Our Old World genealogies are very extensive and are still definitely a work in progress. Some documentation is very good, some is spotty.  Some family lines have been cleaned up, others are still being correlated with duplicative and sometimes contradictory trees, acquired mostly in electronic form. Some royal lines go back to antiquity, including ancestors from Egypt, Rome, Greece, and Israel, as well as early British and Norse lines.  At some point in many of these lines, reality blends quietly into legend and fades to myth  We are trying to make it clear where there is and is not good documented evidence, but this project is in its early stages.  Most of the sources have been referenced on the site and in the GEDCOM .zip file.  Should you have questions, answers, corrections, etc., please feel free to e-mail Benjamin McAlester Brink (Ben) at ben@benbrink.com or Janet Louise Day Brink at janet@brinkfamily.net
